What Canadian Organization Provides Sport Recreation and Physical Activity Services?

Sport Canada is a branch of the Department of Canadian Heritage that develops federal sports policy in Canada, provides funding programs in support of sports and manages special sports-related projects. Its mission is to improve opportunities for all Canadians to participate and excel in sports.

National Sports Organizations

(NSO), sometimes referred to as National Sports Federations (NSF), are the national governing bodies for a particular sport in Canada. Debra's commitment to providing reliable, quality services and support to Canada's sports and physical activity system set a high standard for the Sport Information Resource Centre (SIRC).

The SIRC empowers sports organizations and individuals by sharing credible, evidence-based knowledge through relevant and innovative communication channels. Bilingual sports leader, coach and volunteer, who adopts the concept of never stopping learning, defended the evolution of the SIRC from library to agent of innovative knowledge. KidSport supports children in eliminating financial barriers that prevent them from playing organized sports. The objective is to promote a network of self-sufficient local and regional organizations capable of providing sports, recreational and physical activity opportunities.

Nowadays, sports facilities are important producers of plastic waste, in particular food and beverage services. These relationships will be key to reaching people who don't normally play sports in a traditional sports context and will help them recognize the positive effect that physical literacy and physical activity will have on their lives. We are proud to drive change through research and evidence, and to be Canada's opinion leaders in sports.
